Daily Plan
Day 1
Expecting to spend a lot of time feeling hungry, I tried to cut back on carbs and over-indulging a few days before starting. It was quite a good way to get into the right mindset, and good to know that I could get through the afternoons without my coffee and chocolate! My top tip for day one is to keep distracted. It wasn’t as hard as I thought, but it did take four hours of spring cleaning and a very early night to keep temptation at bay. I found the aloe gel doable – an odd texture but not totally stomach turning. It was tricky but it’s a case of getting yourself into a routine – the first day seems like a lot to remember but it sinks in eventually.
Day 2
Day two was the main ‘hungry’ (very hungry) day. The afternoons and evenings when housemates are cooking up something tasty seemed impossible, but picking on asparagus and spinach from the free foods list really helped. I found myself really looking forward to the shakes, and opted to make them with almond milk. I decided heating it up with the chocolate Forever Lite Ultra was just like having a hot chocolate – or close enough!
Day 3
I had very little energy in the morning of day three, and felt dizzy and queasy. I imagine it was the lack of solid foods. Once the hot chocolate shake went down though I was right as rain and didn’t spend any more time dreaming about afternoon treats. This was the first night I was allowed to eat a proper meal – Jamie Oliver’s Dan Dan Noodles at only 430 calories and absolutely delicious!
Days 4–7
These days were all fairly similar – some cravings making you wonder why you’ve decided this was a good idea – but generally doable and enjoyable. I’m not one for counting calories every second, or letting it rule my life, but in terms of giving yourself a boost of confidence and realising double portions aren’t vital this was great. I had a surprising amount of energy all day and did not get the afternoon dip I normally do.
Days 8 and 9
Ok, time to be really honest, these two days were tough. It was the weekend, and I am definitely a weekend binge eater! I managed the days quite well but lie-ins, visits from family and weekend errands did throw me off my routine. I still managed it though, and although the evening meals were slightly more extravagant, I contained myself a lot more than I thought I could.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
